We referred Gavin to a not-for-profit client of ours that was in real trouble. They had $250,000 in the bank against $1 million in bills and were burning through cash. They owed the ATO $1.8 million and their accounts were more than a year overdue with the regulator warning of deregistration. Within about six weeks the cash position was back under control and by the time Gavin finished every one of those issues had been resolved.
Gavin did the hard work himself. He put in weekly cash flow forecasts, negotiated payment arrangements with the ATO and the State and got the overdue audits completed. He also got the Board to take proper control of spending which made our job a lot easier as our advice was finally being followed.
Without Gavin I don't believe the organisation would have survived. It would most likely have run out of cash or been deregistered and we would have lost a client.
